Unofficial FL winter 2018-2019 snowbird thread split from AZ sux - Mr.LooRead - 07-10-2018

I am looking to host a roving GTG in FL this winter for up to 3 other "vanners". No trailers, old beaters than can't do the speed limit. or those without monthly income and/or emergency funds.

I will have all the free 7-day water management camp reservation permits printed with extra copies. Up to 6 people can share a campsite. Feel free to leave do your own thing and rejoin the caravan at a later date.

To clarify any vehicle that can fit into a single regulation parking spot is welcome.  Extensive camping setups that require an hour to setup and breakdown is not going to be a good fit.

For example, I will be at a 7 day swiftmud camp in SW Desoto County. Just down Peace river ave at Desoto Marina is the world famous Nav-a-Gator and you will need to drive yourself if you want to be apart of the activities away from the campsite.

Ok, you are in. If you have a national rec pass and a handicapped placard that's a bonus.

Refer to https://vandwellerforum.com/showthread.php?tid=1537 for the southbound leg 7-8 day stops are campsites 1-day overnights are usually Walmart. Feel free to let me know any other points of interest you want to stop a within 10 miles of the route. I will be adding library stops and Bimbo bakery outlet stores on travel days.

I will have the northbound leg done next month. During March of that leg, we will travel along coastal GA SC ending near Emerald Isle NC.

We will be at http://www.floridafrontiersmen.com/index.php/participant-information/ so we will work around that. It is one of our favorite places to go. The web site may not be as accommodating with info as it will later in the year.

Will you be attending the entire event or just the 2 public days?

There is dry camping in a rig I think. It’s cheap. The gear and clothes are more of an issue. We might be able to help you figure it out though. There are a few hoops to jump through but not bad.

When I was working I took time off to go there. When I came back my boss asked me where I went. He said it was like I went to another world. It is like another world.
