Who in their right mind would not want to see what lays below a removeable cover?
It's not like it is a transmission pan with no drain plug.
Many panel manufacturers say not to disconnect the panels from their load in full sun, as these diodes can release their magic smoke. I've accidentally done so a few times. No smoke, yet. i assume it is cumulatively damaging and that series or parallel panels could make the possibility of magic smoke escape more likely.

I pulled them out to confirm they all worked and they went back in the boxes .
It's getting warm enough to go up top to work out mounting etc but been too busy with other stuff.
But now , I know what they look like !

Not yet fixed, that's the before picture, take notice that diode on the right has been blown in half. I will replace both since I now have a quantity of 10 in stock.
It's been awful driving around with just one panel on the roof, I just hate it when things are not symmetrical.

I sit corrected , two ! one dollar parts...the remaining old one is probably unharmed but you do have it apart......
