Rather than Jam up another thread I am putting this here.
I would ask that we leave this thread to pertinent information, and the most simple explanation only. This is not about detailing the tech just that it works, and how to use it.
First things first.
You will need to go to EBay and search "5 dollar mifi Verizon". You should find a seller called "glselectronics". You will need to buy the actual hotspot. It is about $70 give or take. They will send you the box and it will be activated and first two or three months paid for.
There will be very simple instructions included with the box. Follow the instructions and you have wifi anywhere Verizon has a signal.
This wifi is good enough for watching movies, listening to music, emailing and sharing photos.
Each month you buy a five dollar per paid Verizon card from a big box store or online and call the phone number to enter the number you are provided to pay the bill.
It is VERY easy.

Does that only work on my Verizon phone or will it do my iPad? Will it do more than one computer?

We use it for all of our devices. At 3G I would not recommend trying to stream in more than one device at a time. I do not have Verizon phone, so I am not sure of that.
All it is is a wifi hotspot.
Your device connects to it and you enter the wifi password and you are connected. Smile

That sounds simple enough, even for me. Do we set up a new email address, starting fresh?

Yes, we will set you up a new email to be sure all is as it should be. I am sure we can figure out what the problem is and get you using your original email again as well, for convenience sake.

Yes, best thing since sliced bread!
Mine, the 4510, must be unplugged to start (IOW, pull the USB, hold start until it goes purple- then plug back in)
My phone service was one of the cheapies- i woulda been out of service for days if it weren't for the MiFi.
For the electronically-challenged (like me): Does this include regular phone service? Or is it just for email and internet? I have an old Verizon flip phone with no current service -- is it's age (10 years old) likely to be an issue? I have never used anything like WiFi.
TC I have the same question.
I picked up an old model new iPhone for cheap on line and it has served me well. I suppose some time I should upgrade but I might just get another old one. It fits my hand, pocket, pocket book and is adequate for some on line searches, email, conversing and best of all the darn thing has a calendar and I can keep track of 4 peoples dr appointments and it does texts. But flip phones are easy to manage.

The mifi is for internet data only, and is considered another separate line independent of others. I find it works well with my laptop. To answer your earlier question, once you've established an internet connection, go to your email providers site, enter your old email and password details and you should be set.
What bleep has posted is a way to get it on a more affordable, albeit slightly slower speed internet. I'm thinking it may be worth a try if I can force myself to open another ebay account. Haven't done ebay in about two years now.
