ya know this has been quite stressful for me,many bloodshot eyes, drool dripping look over and it's 1;30 am nights of research
it took me a couple weeks just to find a name before captain obvious kicked in and then all the research into hosting service blah blah blah

but seeing the members here just freely conversing has made it all worth the while

so i am calling it a win,i succeeded in my goal and it makes me happy

hopefully we can get another member or two on the tech maintenance side and i can regress to my natural aesthetic/content creator side

remember,this is your site,thanks gary
Gary,

I'm very happy that you made this forum and told me about it. I'm looking forward to some decent interaction here minus all the handcuffs and other restraints. Not that I'm above a little restraint from time to time, you know ;-)

Thanks for getting this going. I'll help spread the word.

Tom
Id like to share a story..if you dont mind.

I was apart of a NY gun forum for about 5 years. As years progressed, mods became more strict, tolerance of any opinion was pretty bad and they sold it to a Canadian company. It is now a ghost town. Only a few members and mods remain. Itt was fairly large. A few members did exactly what you did. Made their own site, got people over and called it the members site (not the exact name but you get it). Imagine that...we are much better off at the other place...as this place will be.

So thank you

Blacktank

outdoor,we will be working on a proper set of rules but they will be vetted and edited by the members

we will also need a legal disclaimer to protect from the"he told me to hook up the wire there and it blew up"lawsuit

it's just the world we live in
Of course. Rules are a necessity. How much censorship is what can lead to a problematic situation.

100% agree with your statements
You done good Gary!!!!
It makes me happy that this many like minded people can get together on a forum and say (within reason) whatever is on their mind without fear of a heavy handed slap in the face.
Yeah Gary, you done good. Cool
My biggest gripe is when I got removed for stating the obvious.  Such as when someone had a $1,500 van with a 2X4 build, and asked more than $6K for it.

It will be nice to be Captan Obvious again without having my wings clipped.   Tongue

You got removed for that?
I think I know the van you're talking about. The build wasn't all that, and I'm betting the pinion seal hasn't been fixed.
But come on, it's worth $2500. Tongue

I think the OP's original sentiment is being missed. Stay on topic Big Grin Big Grin LOL! I miss HDR. Really I do.

The OP's post showed something sadly missing in the other site. Humility. Heavy handed tactics are fine if you supporting or maintaining  a brand identity. I'll have a Rum and Pepsi please. You work for Pespico that is how it is ordered. But the random slaps and ok not ok willy nilly enforcement and statements like I don't care who you are break the rules and your gone. Really? humans have bad days! AI's have them to and if they have them together bad day for humans but Arnie's already made a boat load of cash off that franchise.

A guy who did it all on his own, paid for it on his own, and now says have fun. Don't be a jerk! THIS IS HUMILITY! We don't have a thanks button yet but this is going to be a great site because of things like this.

Thank you sir! You're a great guy! Heart Heart Heart

Someone get HDR over.
