If you have only a decent Power Supply that has an adjustable voltage & current limiting circuit, it is all you really need for most things battery maintenance if you understand batteries and are willing to monitor the different cycles manually. I keep a QJE PS  8-16 VDC & max 100 Amp and a quality DMM. Voltage dividers & setting up currents for the nonadjustable PS? Easy to learn.

A PS can pull yours or someone else's butt out of a battery jam if other equipment fails only if you know how to use it to its indecent potential. You can also give new life to old & occasionally to fully dead dead dead batteries, within and sometimes defying reason. Some batteries seem better at this, than others. Either way, it is fun to do, and it could help people out of a jam if their battery is dead dead dead, until they can travel or afford to get a new one. Then there is the chemical method...yeah I know, I'm boring as hell. But I bet you read all this...you YARCs.

That movie was great!

Haha! Thanks. LOLOL
Well that let me know ONE person read it. Funny!
I'm a proud graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Electronics about.. ummm.. 35 or so years ago. Still have a shelf of books in the workshop too. Never did much with it other than tinker with stuff. What I'm gonna be working up when I get back on the road is a 12 volt to what ever voltage my Wahl electric clipper takes to charge the battery. Gotta look on the wall wart to see the output voltage and amps but no problem. Not interested in running an inverter just to charge my dog shears. Love my #1 buzz on the noggin so I can shampoo with a wash cloth.

To study the good stuff, and to play, is to keep your brain tuned up. We won't likely get Alzheimer's.

(I am not prescribing serrapeptase &/or nattokinase, just saying I take it for a good reason, which is I love to play.)

Same here.  I buzz my hair and beard with #1 all the way 'round.

I bought a rechargeable w/wall wart but haven't looked at the specifics yet.  Would be nice if it were 12v or 5v.
Output on my wall wart is 3.6vdc and 1250mA. Be a real simple step down from 12vdc.
