How hot is it getting? If you hear it start to rattle or ping pull over and let it cool down. Leave it idling for a few minutes if you can.
It might have air in the cooling system? I had a air lock in the rear heater hose in one Ford diesel van. It ran hot until the air lock released.

I used to take the oil dipstick (wiped clean) and stick it down the radiator tubes I could reach through the fill neck. It generally bought me enough time to save for a replacement radiator.

Radiator shops used to desolder the tanks and "rod" the passages to clean them out...
Now all (most?) new cars use "better" plastic radiators.
stay tuned

Yep, I worked in a hot rod shop that had the vat (great for engine parts too) and torch. Unsolder the top, place in hot tank to soak about 15 minutes, rod all the cores which pushed all the gunk into the bottom tank, quick drop in tank again to help flush, flush in clear water, solder top on, pressure test under water looking for new leaks to solder up. If bad enough, we sent it out to have it re-cored.
New plastic tanks? Hate 'em.

change thermostat if no change then water pump, take the radiator cap off and let it run until the thermostat opens, you should see the coolant moving fast like a water hose,on the bottom of the shaft on the water pump there should be a hole,if you feel water there it is warn out

I went through four thermostats in about a year. All were Stant. It got so I could change out one in less than 15 minutes.
Compared to parenting, Cat herding is less complicated

Stant is all I ever used. Must have been a bad lot.
