Pike NF - South Park district Do NOT go there!
#11
Yes, they know about it, but they won't do anything about it.  The same thing happened here.  I bought this place not knowing there was a meth lab next door (the owner and the realtors 'forgot' to tell me about it).

A few neighbors and I accidentally (really) got rid of them.  Just in case it's something you can use...

Four of us were talking at the end of the driveway directly across the street from the meth lab, complaining about the cops not doing anything, when two cop cars pull up to the house.  Two cops get out, and they go into the house by both doors.  A minute later, they come back out and one comes over to us, and says they got a tip about someone they had a warrant on. And then they left.

Since they said no one was there, we went inside to look around.  The place had been stripped of everything salable.  All that was left was the kitchen sink counter with a microwave on it, and an old fridge from the 50s painted red and purple.  A late-model big-screen TV (probably stolen) and a sofa in the living room.  Blankets covered all the windows, personal belongings in the bedrooms, toilet filled to the brim with sh*t.

One guy found a screwdriver on the floor, and proceeded to remove the doorknobs and deadbolts.  The other guy and I pulled the blankets off all the windows, and he threw them all into the carport roof.  I went through and turned on all the lights.  Someone turned on the TV.  And we left, taking only the locks.

The maggots returned just after sunset.  They could see the lights shining through the lock holes in the door, the window coverings were gone, and the TV was on.  They parked in front of the house for ten minutes, just watching it.  Then they backed up into the driveway and the passenger guy got out and walked swiftly through the house.  And then they left.  They returned with another car and a van, loaded up their belongings, and left.

I didn't know at the time that paranoia is part of being a meth maggot.  They didn't know what was going on, and it spooked them.  Why would someone take the door locks, but not the TV?  Why would someone leave the lights and the TV on?  Why would someone advertise the had been there, but not lock it up or steal anything?

I called one of the guys the next day, and he and a couple friends returned, one of them donated a box of long screws, and they boarded the place up.

We finished up stupid stuff from the inspection from the first offer... so now we wait on a furnace. I’m pretty sick of this fiasco.
