Alrighty then !
This thread could easily be deleted
But Homey don't play dat.
So .

I haven't done any workamping since 2015.
Lake Pemaquid here in Maine
Paid for all hours and a free site
I worked in the boat house .A 100+ year old log cabin out on a point into a nice lake full of loons and bass.
Free lunch when you were working , a free ice cream made down the road at the local dairy every day too.
Had a great summer and made some good friends..

The couple that owned it were great , the rest of the staff were great, live bands every week pot luck suppers and a million other things to do.

I prefer the mom+ pop CGs over the corporate ones and after doing almost every job , I just do the ones I like (can still do) and pay , site , and bennies. Cost you almost nothing while you're there and the pay buys gas to the next place on the list plus rig maint. with enough to do tourist things along the way.

***** next installment will be a place where the water is worth millions ! Bottled that is . You've probably heard of it .
It came out of the hookups on every site and was in the pool too ! And we had a MOOSE on the LOOSE almost every day!
stay tuned.

My Info is even older, but I think still viable. 2012 and 2013 Winter Season I worked at a Motel in Old Orchard Beach Maine (The Grand Beach INN) They had a much smaller winter population so only needed a skeleton crew to run the place. There was three of us covering everything....check ins, cleaning/room turnovers, minor maintenance if we were comfortable doing it, otherwise a list of vendors to call for bigger things.

They had a large hotel and then 7 or 8 cabins in the back of the property. Each of us got one of those......basically a studio apartment.

I think a lot of the motels/hotels in the area provide the same for winters and since covid and labor being hard to get they've extended that to summer season workers too, I read. And I think that would go for a lot of Maine Beach/tourist towns.
I didn't do it!

The summer of 2012 I worked in the camp store+reservations here.
(If you work in a camp store , you will know every kid in the park !)
Poland Springs Campground in ,well duh , Poland Springs Maine
It was 2 generations of family built and owned. Right on a lake again full of bass and loons ( we have a lot of those uptah camp.) I heard they sold it though.
(OH , forgot the moose. It was basically anybody in the suit. But we had a young fella that came out to make popcorn and read stories to the kiddies and lead the parades on the 4th and Halloween . There was an ice vest that went with the suit , that thing was HOT !)

Part of my hours paid for my site there but the new owner may have a different deal.

No matter where you look for workamping.
Always make sure you get your deal on the job for site , pay if any and bennies sent to you in a text so you know everything before you commit so there are no misunderstandings later.
And have proof if things change once you get there.
