Emptying your black & grey tanks...
#11
Ok, what I was trying to do here with absolutely NO help from anyone was to justify buying one of those cool electric trikes. Nope, nobody just went along with the game and said "Yeah, you really really need one of those cool electric trikes because it would make the task MUCH easier". Nope, not a peep. I see how it is.

Mo' you also need to haul all that water BEFORE it makes it to the grey/black tank...…..

We have a member here...... out on the LTVA right now......they drive an old Class A.....They break camp and pull into the dump station and then refill their water tanks......they start the washing machine along the way...…..They'll take their showers and do more washing …..finally rejoining the line for the dump and the water fill...………..Empty/Clean/Refilled...………….ready for another round of camping.

Sounds like Dan an Kitty are parked right next to YARC camp...……""We're just before the nekkid people....."

So I know a guy, who knows a guy, who installed a powerful macerator pump at the rear, and a remote control switch in the cab of his motorhome.

He can empty that black tank while driving....it shoots a 20 foot stream of liquified sewage sideways....usually into the roadside ditch at 3AM on some lonely stretch of desolate 2 lane highway in the middle of nowhere.

This story may or may not be true. Names have been withheld for obvious reasons....that is, if the story is true.

Just sayin.

Cool

It probably is no more egregious than the tens of thousands of cattle trucks, hog haulers, chicken haulers, and open 'used cow'/protein hoppers that leave trails of manure, body fluids, and urine all over our public roads and roadside low-lying areas, truck stops, rest areas, entrance and exit ramps, etc.

In fact, after the fluid dries, it really is pretty benign, especially spread out over a mile or so, in a dried out ditch in the boonies where (very likely) no human will ever see it or be in contact with it. And it will break down quickly, one would assume. Compared to the filth, human waste, and trash dumped in our oceans and rivers by cruise ships, charter vessels, private yachts, etc, and even some airliners in the past, not really a 'drop' in the bucket, no pun intended.

Probably not a good practice where there is water flowing in a stream or canal near the road, obviously.

And, of course, the EPA would surely be upset, along with the local constabulary.

Not condoing the practice, but overall, probably less of a threat to public health than some other methods of remote 'disposal' we have seen, and heard about.

I was not giving advice, good, bad, or otherwise.

Just relating a story that may or may not be true.

"Some 842 000 people in low- and middle-income countries die as a result of inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene each year, representing 58% of total diarrhoeal deaths. Poor sanitation is believed to be the main cause in some 280 000 of these deaths.
Diarrhoea remains a major killer but is largely preventable. Better water, sanitation, and hygiene could prevent the deaths of 361 000 children aged under 5 years each year.
Open defecation perpetuates a vicious cycle of disease and poverty. The countries where open defection is most widespread have the highest number of deaths of children aged under 5 years as well as the highest levels of malnutrition and poverty, and big disparities of wealth."
