MN C Van, I had seen the term 'yellow journalism' before, but never stopped to look up the definition. It was what I suspected it was, reporting that offers little or no legitimate news while using eye-catching headlines for increased sales, and heavy self-promotion for the 'reporters'. Like the Internet and YouTube.

Sure. Its a little more, too- making the news, i guess.
It's widely held
newspapers started the Spanish-American War.
The incentive for the press to start a war is immense- if you spend just a bit of time thinking about it.
But, back to the book! The Press Böll was dealing with was attempting to incite mass hysteria over the Red Army Faction and the Bader Meinhof gang. And Böll wasn't jumping on their bandwagon.

Serious loss of integrity in the U.S.A., IMO. From top to bottom.

Next/last in my books-on-CD pile is Jessica Bruder's
Nomadland: surviving America in the twenty-first century.
I know there's been discussion of this book in the van dwelling community, with mixed opinions.
What do you folks think of it, and has anyone experienced it on CD?

I read Nomadland and enjoyed it. Just a bunch of stories about different people; nothing earth-shattering,
