I finished a book and started reading "The Monkey Wrench Gang"again.I read it about 30 years ago and it seems a little dated now.By the way, what ever happened to all the militant environmentalists?

So,Tom Wolfe has departed this " vale of tears".I liked most of his writing.I dis-liked his personal philosophy and casual bigotry and disregard for people not of his "class".

Read some excellent poetry today, more Mary Oliver. I think she gets this life in the wild feeling, really well.

In anticipation of my upcoming trip to Alaska this summer and the bear fence thread, inspired me to dig out and re-read this book I got on my last cross country trek almost 8 years ago now. Can't believe it's been that long since i've taken a nice long road trip.

Gary, LOL!
Just picked up a compendium for the Outlander series, gives background info the author either left out or felt added an explanation to many storylines... in a continuing nine book series where each book is over 1200 pages.

I still think a good Chiltons or Haynes repair manual is fine reading all snuggled up next to a fire with a nice cup of hot chocolate. The suspense, the drama, the happy endings... always brings a tear to my eyes.
