Saguaro Blooms
#1
I’ve never seen them bloom before, when it gets hot I am usually long gone. But this year I am sticking around. The Saguaro blooms are hard to photograph as they are on the tops of the cactus and they are usually 20 feet tall or more. I spent some time driving around to find one down a ravine so I could capture a picture of the flowers from the top.

I really don’t know what I expected, but somehow I was picturing big red flowers. What they actually do is grow finger sized sprouts that bloom with a white flower.

Beautiful.

When we lived in Gila Bend my mom liked to go looking for blooms, I think the desert was hard on her midwestern soul.
