PowerPro 1000 review
#1
This is a two stroke 1000 watt generator. It set me back $125 on eBay. I’ve been using it for a year and a half, so it has some real hours on it.

Although only 1000 Watts, it will power most of my needs. I primarily use it to top off my battery charge when the days are cloudy and my solar suitcase isn’t making enough power. I also use it to run my clothes washing machine and sometimes I’ll turn it on to watch a movie on my tv.

I carry a small two gallon gas can that has the gas and oil mixture. This thing always starts on the second or third pull. I’ve driven over 30,000 miles with it bouncing around in the back of my truck, left it out in the rain and elements, and basically I’ve never been gentle with this little thing. It has a handle and weighs maybe 20 pounds. I have seen some replacement parts available online. I have replaced the pulley and cord with a better quality one.

So basically this is a very cheap, but well built generator that has been keeping my batteries full and me happy for a very long time.

How loud is it? I always picture small 2 cycle engines as screamers.

It isn’t terrible, but it is much louder than the expensive inverter 2000 watt one I had.

That's always my first concern with generators. There are several YT videos showing how to build quiet boxes for gennys and If got one that would be something I'd consider. I'd make it a knock down box so it's easy to store between moves.

I really thought, when I bought it, that I would be buying a better generator once finances allowed. But this thing just keeps going, and no one seems interested in stealing it.

Use what you have till it breaks... good plan.

Yes they are noisier but also a lot simpler to maintain. Glad that its working for you.

When you can afford to go back to a 4 cycle inverter model like the cheapy knockoffs that have been posted recently, that would be good. Or if some member wants to gift you a Honda or Yamaha 2000/2200...  Big Grin
They say when you get older two things happen, one is you lose your memory and the other, I forget.

Organized people are simply too lazy to search for stuff.

I had a nice one and it was stolen. My favorite thing about this one is that no one wants it! It works great, it was cheap, and I don’t have to try and hide it in camp.
