Add this to the analysis.
It ain't gonna fix itself....
A diagnostic session is the first logical step Ms. Spock.

yes and yes,a diagnostic usually doesnt cost that much and a pro with knowledge of this transmission shouldnt have to tear into it,the symptoms should be enough

what city so i can go through the reviews and such

funding,i have already talked to some members here that will help and HDR will help on crvl,i might have to whisper sweet nothing to Bob but i have done worst

first we need to get a diagnostic and go from there, could just be a $300 repair

operation get belinda to rtr is in full effect

I live in BFE, so two or three estimates is hard to come by if I have to haul it around from shop to shop. The $1900 is from a pretty well reputed transmission shop in Jefferson City (about 30 miles south of me). I have a free tow to them because that's where the neighbor and all his friends and family go. My ex brother-in-law has also taken a vehicle or two to them and recommends them.

The shop that initially checked Juanita out a few months ago is about 7 miles south of me (I could potentially drive her slow in 2nd gear to get her there) is a general shop but they work on everything from semis to foreign sports cars. And I trust them because I've been taking vehicles to them for about 8 years (first one was a diesel chevy conversion van that no one else on earth would touch!).

I will go talk to my shop on Monday and see what they'll charge me to at least look at it. Maybe I can guilt the neighbor into towing it down there for me. Imma drink heavily this weekend, so I'm sure I'll be able to make better choices by Monday!! HA!

Okay... the shop in Jefferson City is Steinmetz. Maybe GotSmart can chime in on transmission shops in Columbia, which is also about 30 miles from me. My shop is in Kingdom City and it's called Van's. Let me know what you find about either of them.

Okay... I have a free tow to Steinmetz in Jeff City. I can have the neighbor haul it down next week. He towed Juanita home from Columbia and has decided he won't do that again with his own pickup (she's a heifer) so he has to talk to his dad about using a heavy duty pickup!! I'll talk to him when he gets home from work tonight to see when he thinks he can get her down there. I have Sunday night off so I can clean her out all day Monday. That just moves up the plan to get her cleaned out!!!

My shop is very much like yours.
IF they determined the thing was shot...
They would pull it and send it to a tranny only place then put it back in.

Been going to them since I got my Class A , 1995 I would (and do) trust them with any repair.

(Probably a little too far away for you though !!!)

Yeah, a little too far FOR NOW :-) I do hope to be up that way next fall, tho! WHEN I get out of here, I'm heading east first, then going down to Florida and across the southern route to NM or AZ by winter... that's the plan, that's the plan... from my cell-less brain to God's ear!!
