gas prices: map of state-by-state average - Kaylee - 11-28-2018

Since I'll be crossing several states in the next few days, did a google search to get a ballpark idea of what to expect, and found this great map & chart:

Once again my home state leads the way in cheap gasoline.  Our state average price per gallon of regular is $2.135 and the real bargain is one county south of us; Madison County with an average of $1.97 per gallon.  Ozarks is where it's at...if you can stand the weather of course.

Texas isn't far behind at $2.193.

Gas on the left coast are sure up there, from $3.568 in California to $3.152 on Oregon and Washington in t6he middle at $3.329.

I think this is one of the big reasons I don't go over that way much.

Isn't it odd that the actual price of a gallon of gas is exactly the same across the US. The difference in the price at the pump is the state sales tax added. I always thought Texas and Oklahoma would be the cheapest but found out differently when I started driving the big truck. No matter, the price difference between here and there isn't enough to break the bank. Going out west there is a noticeable difference of course but if you are camping and not going anywhere for 2 weeks at a time and then only moving 50 miles or so to the next campsite you are not gonna use much fuel anyway. I feel for those folks that have to drive a long distance everyday commuting back and forth to work out west. That can sure cut into your bring home pay.

Does the link show taxes by state? Didn't see it but wasn't really looking. I did just drop some stuff off at goodwill out of storage and saw $1.99.9 for reg. Had to drive around the block to check thinking I missed something. Gas Buddy confirmed my Q.
By the way, that's a good app to have available if yr phone has GPS.
